*Dependent on the quoted price not exceeding the maximum funding band, any monies above that are due directly from the employer.

Registration fee £500 per apprentice

Any registrations made within 6 months of expected EPA date will be charged rate of 50% of overall EPA cost

Where relevant resit costs will be applied as outlined below -:

Theory resits - £150 each

Practical resits - £900 each

Professional discussion resits - £350 each

 

JOB ROLE/DESCRIPTION

Craftspersons undertake the installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and decommissioning of large-scale engineering systems which are used for heating industrial and commercial buildings like office blocks, factories, schools and hospitals. 

Craftspersons have a detailed knowledge of the system’s operating principles and should be able to work on their own without supervision.  

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

It is desirable to achieve this apprenticeship you will need English and Maths at level 2 or GCSE Grade 4-9 (C or above), and Information Communication Technology at Level 1 or GCSE Grade 3 (D).  If you do not have these, delivery can be organised prior to the apprenticeship commencing. 

 

WHAT WILL THE PROGRAMME ENTAIL?

Apprentices will study towards the Building Services Engineering Craftsperson qualification, which includes the following knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs): 

Knowledge

These will be demonstrated through knowledge tests, practical assignments and submission of a Record of Achievement, followed by an endpoint assessment.  

 

WHEN WILL THE ASSESSMENTS TAKE PLACE?

The employer, advised by the training provider, will decide when the apprentice has demonstrated the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours during the on-programme learning and confirm they are ready to access the End Point Assessment. 

The apprentice will also need to have achieved: 

  • Level 3 Heating & Ventilating Craftsperson Qualification 
  • English and Maths at level 2 or GCSE Grade 4-9 (C or above), and Information Communication Technology at Level 1 or GCSE Grade 3 (D).  

 

WHAT IS THE ASSESSMENT?

The End Point Assessment tests the expertise built up over the period of the apprenticeship. It includes: 

KNOWLEDGE TEST - Synoptic knowledge and behaviours assessment, delivered as an on-demand multiple-choice examination           

CRAFTSPERSON SKILLS TEST - Timed synoptic practical assessment 

PROFESSIONAL DISCUSSION– The apprentices' Record of Achievement will be made available to the interviewer prior to the Professional Discussion taking place. 

 

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will achieve either a:

Distinction
