BESA Awards of Excellence

The BESA Awards of Excellence celebrates the industry's best future engineers within the building services sector.

BESA Awards of Excellence

The BESA Awards of Excellence recognises outstanding employees who have demonstrated both exceptional standards and commitment to their work whilst working towards a management role or recognition of a chartered professional body. 

There are 2 professional development awards - The Ann Noblett Professional Engineer of the Year Award and The Alfred Manly Management Award.

The winners of both awards will be given a generous bursary to help fund their future career and will be presented with the award at the BESA National Awards on 1 November, London. 

Both awards are free to enter and are a great way to promote yourself and your employer. Our online entry forms are simple to complete. There are 2 parts to the application, both you and your line manager will need to provide answers. We suggest you make a note of your line manager's questions and send to them via email and then you can copy and paste their answers in. You will also need to upload a PDF version of your CV.

The closing date for entries is Friday 28 September 2018.

The Ann noblett professional engineer of the year award

Faye Pinder, Boygues - winner of the Ann Noblett Professional Engineer of the Year Award 2017

This Memorial Scholarship was established to honour the late Ann Noblett. 

Ann managed the various memorial trusts entrusted to the Association for over 25 years and project-managed the industry’s National Training Awards until they transferred to SummitSkills.

This award is open to all sector disciplines and recognizes those who have completed or are completing an Apprenticeship Degree, National Level 4 or above Design, Project and / or Technical Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, Foundation Degree or degree course in building services and are now working towards the achievement of an appropriate chartered professional body.

The Scholarship will contribute towards a development intervention that assists the winner in achieving professional status.

The alfred manly management award

Curtis Castledine, Briggs & Forrester, winner of The Alfred Manly Management Award 2017.

The Alfred Manly Management Award celebrates the achievements of young engineers who have been judged to be capable of progressing to a senior management role within the building services engineering industry.

This award is for those who have completed an Apprenticeship Degree, National Level 4 or above Design, Project and /or Technical Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, Foundation Degree or degree course in building services engineering and are employed or aspiring to be employed in a junior or middle management position. The award aims to help them to identify their key management development needs, and provides support for the appropriate development intervention to assist them in achieving their full management potential.
