BEIS needs your help

The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is conducting a study to help inform future policy development as to what the UK would want to seek by way of access to the EU post-Brexit for short term business travel.

This is defined as periods of up to 90 days and would typically cover activities such as sales, customer support, attending conferences or meetings. It would not cover longer term deployments overseas, for example secondments, a foreign posting to another part of a multinational group or to work on a project for an extended period.

BEIS is trying to identify 10-15 companies that send staff to the EU for such visits.  They would like to conduct short interviews with each company (in person or by telephone) about the purposes for which they send staff overseas, and how they do this.  And if possible, to compare travel within the EU under current arrangements with travel to other countries where other rules apply, and to compare the additional costs in time and money this involves.

If you can help BEIS and would like to take part in this study, please contact fergus.harradence@beis.gov.uk
