Brexit

Keep up with the latest developments in our dedicated Brexit area

Following the UK's decision to leave the European Union in a landmark decision in June 2016 there has been much uncertainty over what the future will hold for the building engineering services sector.

The BESA are here to support our members and the industry through this time of uncertainty and change offering support, guidance and advice.

Brexit survey

In collaboration with the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) and leading Scottish electrical trade body SELECT we recently held a major Brexit survey to identify the key issues within the building engineering services sector following the UK’s landmark decision to leave the European Union. The survey enables us to accurately represent your interests to the government and the results, which were published on 6 September 2016 can be found here.

Just over 700 respondents from companies from across the UK participated in the survey, with the size of firms ranging from micro and SME up to major construction firms with turnovers well in excess of £100 million.
