Read MoreCompanies are required to draft a privacy notice to informing data subjects why personal data is being collected, how and why it is being processed and informing data subjects of their rights under the GDPR.
Articles 13 & 14 or the General Data Protection Regulation (“the GDPR”) state that data subjects must be provided with privacy information when personal data is collected from the data subject, as defined under Article 13 of the GDPR, or not obtained from the data subject, as defined under Article 14 of the GDPR.
Companies are therefore required to draft a privacy notice to informing data subjects why personal data is being collected, how and why it is being processed and informing data subjects of their rights under the GDPR.
Please note that if data is to be transferred to a third country outside the European Economic Area (EEA) then further provision will need to be included within the privacy notice. Also if you intend to rely on any national legislation that lowers the requirements of the GDPR further guidance should be sought.
