BESA Elections - make a difference in your Association

In December 2016 members of the Association voted in favour of changes to the BESA Constitution, including revisions to BESA’s Governance structure. In the new structure, BESA members have more opportunities to actively influence the Association’s strategy and direction through a number of positions.

The most significant change is the introduction of a board to help shape the strategic direction of BESA. The board is comprised of four officers, the BESA Chief Executive, BESA’s Finance Director and we are now looking for three member representatives to complete the makeup.

At this time two council and three trustee positions are also vacant which we are seeking to fill.

At its core, BESA is an association which exists for its members and this is a great opportunity for members to shape the future of their association. Together these positions will collectively ensure the BESA strategy, vision and mission is upheld, implemented and managed.

The closing date for nominations is 10 February 2017 after which members will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidates.

Any member can nominate themselves for one (or several) of these positions, as long as they are seconded by another member. Voting will commence on 15 February and run until 15 March. Successful candidates will be confirmed on 6 April 2017 and ratified at a Special General Meeting on that date.
