Geberit have released a statement informing customers of a risk of injury when using older Geberit Mapress / Novopress adapter jaws ZB 321 manufactured between 2001 and 2007.
Their message states that pressing jaws are subject to natural wear and as a consequence, their service life is limited.
Advice has been given that some Geberit Mapress / Novopress adapter jaws on the market with the designation ‘ZB 321’ have reached the end of their service life. The machines produced between 2001 and 2007 are the affected products and there have been reports that in rare instances these adapter jaws can break putting the users at risk of serious injury from flying fragments.
In the interest of health and safety it has been advised that Geberit Mapress / Novopress adapter jaws 28 321 with the serial numbers 101 to 5228 must therefore no longer be used. They must be taken out of service and disposed of without delay.
Serial numbers can be found on the side of one of the two plates as displayed in the below diagram.
Those with questions should contact their nearest Geberit sales company.
