An apprenticeship vacancy has arisen within a successful company for an apprentice to train to become a Plumbing & Heating Engineer. Plumbing Engineers are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing services including, hot and cold-water services, and wastes to outside drainage in industrial and commercial properties and structures such as schools, hospitals, shops, etc. Engineers develop skills using materials such as steel, copper, plastic and aluminium to install baths, basins, sinks, toilets, washing machines, dishwashers and other domestic appliances. They further develop specialist skills for the installation of domestic heating including boilers, radiators, pumps and electronic controls, and develop useful practical skills such as welding and testing water pressures and pipe-work for leakages. Plumbers can work both indoors and outdoors, travel from site to site, sometimes throughout the country, which may mean staying away from home for short or long periods.
