This apprenticeship framework will be withdrawn in April 2018 and will be replaced by the Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Trailblazer for England only. For apprentices currently on this programme they will continue until completion. This apprenticeship is only available in England.
JOB ROLE/DESCRIPTION
A building services domestic heating engineer installs and repairs hot and cold water heating systems, including boilers, controls, pipework and radiators.
The work is usually in people’s homes but can include shops and block housing accommodation as well, in both occupied and unoccupied premises.
It is desirable to achieve this apprenticeship you will need English and Maths at level 2 or GCSE Grade C, and Information Communication Technology at Level 1 or GCSE Grade D. If you do not have these we can organise delivery prior to the apprenticeship commencing.
Apprentices will study towards the Level 2 and Level 3 Building Services Domestic Heating Engineer qualification, which includes knowledge tests, practical assignments and production of a portfolio of evidence.
An apprenticeship is a real job with training, enabling you to earn whilst you learn. You will gain qualifications, which are recognised worldwide as well as a vast range of job-specific skills.
