Unit 222 of Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Heating & Ventilating Planned & Reactive Maintenance

Is this training right for me?

If you have been working within the building engineering services heating & ventilation sector for at least 5 years with no formal qualifications or need to upskill, then this course is perfect for you.

 

Overview

You are expected to complete a portfolio of evidence compiled from your workplace and will complete the following unit with its learning outcomes.

 

Unit 222 – Service & Maintain Industrial & Commercial Heating & Ventilation Systems

  • Outcome 1 – Prepare the work location
  • Outcome 2 – Service systems, equipment & components
  • Outcome 3 – Complete soundness tests
  • Outcome 4 – Decommission  

 

You will not need to attend a learning environment as all evidence is gathered from the workplace, however, you will be expected to:

attend an induction where the NVQ evidence gathering process will be explained.

manage your time effectively and complete all tasks set.

attend meetings with your assessor to obtain advice and guidance on evidence obtained.

arrange a minimum of 2 on-site competency assessments with your assessor

submit a suitable NVQ portfolio of evidence.

On completion of the course, you will be able to carry out activities contained within the learning outcomes listed above and will be able to apply for a Blue Skilled Worker SKILLcard. (All applicants must meet the SKILLcard health and safety requirements.)

 

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, however, you must:

have at least 5 years experience working in your chosen sector.

have completed the CSCS Health & Safety test prior to receiving your Experienced Worker SKILLcard from BESA Training.

be exposed to the correct range of work required to complete the NVQ unit/s.

complete a level 2 qualification prior to progressing to level 3.

 

Duration

This will depend on your level of capability and experience.

 

Assessment

A minimum of 2 on-site competency assessments carried out by the assessor.

 

Certification

City & Guilds unit accreditation.
