The BESA Industry Awards are back, taking place on 16 October at The Brewery, London.
We have ten new categories for you this year, and are offering more opportunities than ever, to celebrate excellence across the building engineering services sector.

- We recommend completing your entry in Word or a similar program then copying and pasting it into the entry form
- You can't save your entry and return to it later. All information must be added and submitted in one go.
- The entry deadline for the BESA Industry Awards 2025 is 4 July 2025.

Apprentice and Individual of the Year Awards
Do you know a talented individual, or an apprentice that deserves some recognition for their hard work and commitment?
Entrants must be nominated by a mentor, employer or college with the submission supported by specific examples and evidence.Apprentices must be studying for their level 3 apprenticeship or be within 12 months of starting Level 4.

Electro Technical
It recognises the achievements of apprentices in the electro-technical sector who have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and promise during their training. This award celebrates the next generation of talent and highlights their contributions to the building services industry.

Service and Maintenance, sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric
This award recognises the achievements of apprentices in the service and maintenance sector who have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and promise during their training. This award celebrates the next generation of talent and highlights their contributions to the building services industry.

H&V Industrial and Commercial
This award recognises the achievements of apprentices in the H&V industrial and commercial sector who have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and promise during their training. This award celebrates the next generation of talent and highlights their contributions to the building services industry.

Manly Management Training Bursary
The Manly Management Training Bursary Award is designed to recognise and support promising apprentices within the building services sector who demonstrate outstanding potential to develop into future leaders. This award provides a unique opportunity for one apprentice to access fully funded, advanced management training to enhance their career prospects and prepare them for senior leadership roles.

Rising Star Award, sponsored by Tilbury Douglas
The purpose of the Rising Star Award is to recognise and celebrate emerging talent in the building engineering services sector. It specifically honours individuals who have been in the industry for five years or less and have shown exceptional promise, innovation, and leadership potential.

BSE Technician
This award recognises the achievements of apprentices in the building services engineering sector who have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and promise during their training. This award celebrates the next generation of talent and highlights their contributions to the building services industry.
WorldSkills UK Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps

BESA is proud to have been chosen as an organising partner of the WorldSkills UK competition, which celebrates both emerging and existing technical skills.
The competition sets out to identify the most talented young apprentices working in various technical sectors. Run annually, it is designed to raise standards, esteem, and levels of expertise in technical skills across multiple streams of competition, including Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps.
Assessing candidates by showcasing their skills and knowledge through tasks inspired by real-life industry scenarios. It encompasses a comprehensive range of skills, including fault finding/diagnosis, fabrication, and the service and maintenance of technical equipment.

Retrofit Project of the Year
The Retrofit Project of the Year Award recognises and celebrates retrofit or refurbishment projects, that have significantly improved the performance of existing buildings or facilities. It showcases the essential role of retrofit in addressing key objectives such as comfort, health & well-being, and carbon reduction.

Net Zero Project of the Year, Sponsored by Frese Group
The Net Zero Project of the Year Award recognises the efforts and achievements of projects, that actively contribute to the UK’s target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. This award aims to celebrate innovation, leadership, and measurable progress in reducing carbon emissions through design, construction, operation, and cultural transformation.
New for 2025: National Contractor of the year
The Contractor of the Year Award recognises an outstanding building services contractor that has demonstrated excellence in project delivery, innovation, client satisfaction, and industry leadership. This award celebrates contractors that consistently go above and beyond in quality, safety, sustainability, and workforce development, setting a benchmark for best practices in the industry.
The four categories will culminate in an overall National Contractor of the Year, sponsored by Groupe Atlantic.

Service and Maintenance Contractor of the Year

The Service and Maintenance Contractor of the Year Award recognises outstanding contractors in the building services industry who have demonstrated excellence in delivering service and maintenance solutions. The award highlights companies that provide exceptional service quality, technical expertise, innovation, and commitment to client satisfaction while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Vent Hygiene Contractor of the Year
This award aims to recognise and celebrate companies who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to maintaining high standards of ventilation hygiene. The award highlights the essential role of effective ventilation system maintenance in ensuring air quality, safety, and the well-being of building occupants. This category acknowledges excellence in best practices, compliance with hygiene regulations, and innovative approaches to vent hygiene within the building services sector.
Excellence in Competence and Compliance Award, sponsored by AIRO
This category celebrates BESA members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to maintaining high standards of competence, compliance, and quality through the BESA CAS audit. It highlights businesses excelling in key areas such as technical competence, health and safety, environmental compliance, and workforce development.
REFCOM Environmental Excellence Award, sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric
This award recognises REFCOM-certified members who demonstrate outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability, compliance with F-Gas regulations, and innovation in refrigerant management practices. It celebrates companies and individuals making significant strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing sustainable practices in the RAC industry.
SFG20 Excellence in Maintenance
The SFG20 Excellence in Maintenance will recognise organisations who have demonstrated outstanding use of the SFG20 standard to drive positive change in the built environment – whether through improved compliance, enhanced efficiency, cost savings, or forward-thinking innovation.
Excellence in Commissioning Award
The Excellence in Commissioning Award celebrates outstanding achievements in commissioning within the building engineering services industry. This award recognises individuals, teams, or projects that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to raising standards, enhancing professionalism, and delivering excellence in commissioning practices.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
The Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Award recognises and celebrates companies that have introduced initiatives or projects promoting diversity and inclusivity within the building services sector. This includes fostering the participation and advancement of women, as well as supporting neurodiversity and encouraging innovative thinking from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Training Provider of the Year
The Training Provider of the Year Award recognises outstanding BESA-approved training providers that have demonstrated excellence in delivering high-quality training and assessment programs within the building services sector. This award celebrates training organisations that have made a significant impact on learners, employers, and the wider industry through innovation, quality, and learner success.

Product Innovation of the Year
The Product Innovation of the Year Award celebrates ground breaking new products within the building engineering services sector. This category recognises innovative solutions that address current market needs, improve efficiency, sustainability, or performance, and demonstrate tangible benefits for clients or the supply chain.
Learning and Development Initiative of the Year
This award celebrates employers who have implemented an exceptional training or development program within the past year. This category recognises initiatives that have significantly contributed to enhancing workforce skills, improving efficiency, and driving innovation within the building engineering services sector.
New for 2025: Supplier of the Year
The Supplier of the Year Award recognises the essential role suppliers play in delivering quality and reliability to the building services sector. By honouring excellence in service, innovation, and sustainability, this award encourages suppliers to continue raising the standard of delivery and foster stronger collaborations across the industry.
New for 2025: Distributor of the Year
The Distributor of the Year Award recognises outstanding achievements by distributors within the building engineering services industry. This award celebrates companies that excel in providing exceptional service, innovative solutions, and reliable supply chain management. It demonstrates a deep commitment to customer satisfaction, sustainability, and industry collaboration.
The judging will take place 14 - 21 July 2025.
The winners will be announced at The Brewery, Chiswell St, 16 October 2025.
