How the competition works
The competition is structured to give participants a clear pathway to showcase their skills:
1. Entry Assessments
Registered candidates start with an online entry assessment to evaluate their foundational skills and knowledge in their chosen trade.
2. Regional Qualifiers
Top scoring applicants compete in a full-day practical event against other leading candidates from across the UK. The highest scorers advance to the National Finals.
3. Training and Development
After the Regional Qualifiers, all competitors will receive a personalised development plan. Finalists will focus on preparing for the National Finals, while those who did not qualify will receive guidance to enhance their skills for future competitions or their day-to-day work.
4. National Finals and Beyond
The national finals bring together the top competitors, who take on challenging tasks judged by industry professionals over two full days, focusing on precision, quality, and innovation.
Age eligible competitors may earn the chance to represent the UK in an International competition, undergoing rigorous training with expert coaches to refine their skills.
