Join the BESA Skills Legacy Programme – Advance Your Career with Fully Funded Training

The Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) is addressing the critical shortage of trainers, assessors, and building safety auditors in the Building Services Engineering sector. Through the Skills Legacy Programmewe are recruiting 100 experienced professionals to mentor and develop the next generation of engineers; ensuring the industry's future is built on a foundation of expertise and safety.

Exciting Fully Funded Training 

Thanks to the Manly Trust (a charitable organisation dedicated to advancing engineering education), training costs are fully covered for the first 50 candidates who complete the assessment process. This support removes financial barriers and gives skilled professionals the chance to move into vital assessor and trainer roles.  

Funding is limited and will be prioritised for those new to assessing or who otherwise wouldn’t have access to training.

Step-by-Step: How you can get involved  

1. Check Eligibility, Hold a level 2+ qualification in one of these trades: 
  • Heating & Ventilation 
  • Ductwork 
  • Building Services Engineering 
  • Plumbing (Domestic or Commercial) 
  • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning 
  • Service & Maintenance / Hard FM 

2. Begin your training, Start your CAVA Level 3 (City and Guilds) qualification.
3. Build your portfolio, While training, you’ll assess apprentices or workers and gather evidence with support from a BESA-approved training provider. 
4. Become Accredited, Once your portfolio is complete, you’ll be qualified to assess your own learners and contribute to the wider industry.
