Testimonials from current assessors
“If you’re into helping people develop in their careers, I would say go for it. You get a chance to meet young people passionate about their work and help put them at ease and showcase their ability”
“Although you may not have formally assessed someone before, you will know exactly what it takes to make it in the industry and can support apprentices to articulate what they’ve learned”
“Our company identified very early on that the best assessors come from those directly in the sector, the ones with the current hands on experience”
Industry Qualification requirements for Assessing
Do you have any staff with a level 2 or above in the following BSE Trades:
- Heating & Ventilation
- Ductwork
- Building Service Engineer
- Domestic & Commercial Plumbing
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Service & Maintenance / Hard FM
If they do not have an NVQ in one of these trades, then could you put them through that first, and then look at them doing an assessor qualification, such as;
Things to note:
- You need to have at least two candidates on accredited courses to assess within your assessment area (maybe an apprentice or experienced worker?)
- You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence – assessed by a BESA Assessor.
- You will have guided support and tutorials
Then you have an individual that can assess your own learners and support the wider industry!
