Grenfell Report Findings
On 26 February 2025, the UK Government reached a critical milestone by unveiling its response to Sir Martin Moore-Bick's Phase 2 report on the Grenfell tragedy. Notably, 49 of the 58 recommendations have been accepted, representing a significant step forward in building safety reforms in England.
Subsequently, on 25 March 2025, the Scottish Government published its own response, outlining key proposals to strengthen building safety across Scotland.
These include legislative changes, enhanced enforcement powers, a comprehensive review of fire safety standards, mandatory fire risk assessments for high-rise buildings, and improved competency requirements for fire risk assessors.
BESA has prepared detailed summaries to explain these developments clearly and highlight the practical implications for our members operating in both jurisdictions.
