Ventilation Technical Forum - London

July 24 2019

BESA, Rotherwick House, 3 Thomas More Street, London E1W 1YZ 10:30 - 13:30

You are invited to join us for a Ventilation Technical Forum Meeting at BESA, Rotherwick House, 3 Thomas More Street, London, E1W 1YZ from 10.30 to 13.10 on 24 July.

We will be joined by Peter Rogers, BESA Ventilation Expert and Duncan Sibbald, Head of Certification

For many years the Insurance Companies and the Hospitality sector have recognised BESA’s Technical Specifications – DW172, DW144 and TR19® as the industry standards for Kitchen Ventilation system installation and maintenance.

The latest of these specifications is TR19® Grease – Fire Risk Management of Grease Accumulation within Kitchen Extraction Systems. Unfortunately, though often quoted by some cleaning contractors, fire losses associated with un-cleaned grease extract systems still continue, especially where servicing to TR19® has been quoted or specified.

Recognising this devaluing of the “TR19® Brand” and the reputation of the Association, BESA  in consultation with The insurers’ Fire Research Strategy Scheme,  plans to develop a new and far reaching Specification for the fire safety cleaning of kitchen grease extraction systems.

Now for the first time contractors will have to show that the work is undertaken by accredited competent people and that contractors shall have to demonstrate that their work is certified by an independent Registering Body.

Learn what the New TR19® Grease will require, including operative competence and registration of post cleaning certification via the BESCA Ventilation Hygiene Elite registration scheme.

The agenda will cover

  • TR19®
    Update post 2019 review
  • DW/172 Updates and details by Peter Rogers - BESA Ventilation Expert
  • DW/144 Updates and details by Peter Rogers - BESA Ventilation Expert
  • Ventilation Hygiene Elite presentation
