Join BESA for a building engineering services coronavirus response webinar.

As cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to rise in the United Kingdom causing widespread disruption to travel, places of work, and instruction from Government for individuals to 'stay at home' (self-isolate), this webinar aims to offer guidance to building engineering service firms on business continuity, contractual issues and employment issues.

1) Business Continuity - guidance on dealing with the coronavirus pandemic which covers examples of business continuity plans, checklists and recommended official information sources
2) Coronavirus Contractual Issues – guidance regarding the impact of coronavirus on construction contracts and, in particular, the position if delays occur due to a shortage of materials, labour or in the event of site shutdown
3) Coronavirus Employer Guidance - how employers should treat employees who are absent from work (either as a result of contracting the coronavirus, are staying at home or because the employer is unable to provide work due to a dislocation of production on site or site closure) for payment purposes. It also covers the ancillary workplace issues that might arise in the context of dealing with the coronavirus.

Andrew Ostle, BESA Head of Standards & Compliance
