Read MoreBSS Coventry received a call from Coventry Hospital saying they urgently needed an
18mm jaw to suit a press tool they had previously hired. Having already cut into a
line, the order was urgent as the water supply to the ward had been cut. Thankfully
our National Distribution Centre was able to locate the required item and allowed
Coventry’s driver to collect and deliver it straight to the hospital.
Another great example of co-operation to achieve a super-fast result.
BIG TEAM EFFORT
When Cardiff branch received an evening call to provide materials for a local
hospital’s additional wards, they knew the wards had to be up and running by the
end of the month to take COVID-19 patients - so there was no time to lose.
The branch was able to supply some of the products themselves but with the
assistance of colleagues at BSS Bristol (who had the relevant pipe), our National
Distribution Centre at Magna Park (for same-day delivery to Cardiff branch), and
overnight delivery from Pegler, they were able to provide the rest to enable the
hospital plant rooms to supply heating and hot water to the new wards.
The customer’s response? "Many thanks for your help, BSS to the rescue again."
HALFWAY HOUSE
BSS Glasgow received an urgent order for the NHS Louisa Jordan temporary
hospital for three pumps on the Thursday before the Easter weekend. These were
due on site the following morning (Good Friday) but due to the upcoming holiday
weekend, it was impossible to guarantee delivery via the usual routes or the
supplier’s carrier.
Regional Sales Director Craig Graham contacted the supplier and they arranged to
meet halfway between Glasgow and Sunderland to collect the pumps. Craig then
delivered to the NHS site first thing on the Friday morning, thus avoiding any delay to
this critical install.
Definitely a Good Friday.
BIG THANKS
Quote from the Project Director of one of our major contractors involved with recent
Nightingale projects:
“A big massive huge thank you for all your help throughout this amazing project, we
really could not have asked any more from anybody... this is, without doubt, one of
the proudest moments in my working career, if what we have achieved in just two
weeks saves one life, then every hour and every minute we all put into this was
worth it.”
Great to see that going that extra mile doesn’t get taken for granted in these difficult
times.
HARROGATE THANKS
As the Harrogate Nightingale Hospital nears completion, all those involved -
particularly those at BSS Leeds - have been sent a massive thankyou by the Senior
Building Services Manager who said “ Without your continued assistance, there’s no
doubt we’d have struggled. Please pass on our thanks to your guys and the entire
supply chain.”
WHATEVER IT TAKES
An emergency order request made at 7.45 pm on a Friday night saw BSS Leeds
colleagues in at 6 am on a Saturday morning to pick & pack the 76mm degreased
copper tube and supplier pipework for two new Nightingale projects. The driver then
hit the road and the goods were on-site around 10 am Saturday morning - a
seven-hour round trip for the branch’s heroic driver.
NO EASTER BREAK IN BRISTOL
No long Easter weekend break for Dave Kibbey & Lee Morgan from BSS Bristol as
they continued to arrange deliveries & collections for the Nightingale Hospital in
Bristol. The Supplier completed two deliveries & opened up for the customer to
collect as well. A fantastic job by Dave & Lee to coordinate all of this, despite it being
a bank holiday weekend. Deliveries were made on Good Friday, Easter Saturday,
Easter Sunday & Easter Monday!
NEWCASTLE FOR NIGHTINGALES
BSS Newcastle has been servicing a Nightingale hospital project at Washington.
A large order for copper tube, fittings and soil/waste, keyed onto Newcastle by Chris
Beadle of Stockton branch.
A fully-loaded vehicle left Newcastle branch for the site this morning (03/04/2020).
Working as OneBSS.
