The ventilation hygiene sector is growing as building owners face rising costs and more stringent conditions imposed on them by insurers concerned about fires being spread through poorly maintained ventilation systems. The need to keep food preparation areas free of contamination is another increasingly important area of potential reputational risk and depends on air systems being kept clear of airborne contaminants.
All employers are subject to health and safety at work legislation, which requires them to maintain conditions in occupied spaces that protect the well-being of their staff. Clean air within the working environment is vital to prevent respiratory conditions such as asthma or outbreaks of serious infections, from having bacterial spores present within the ductwork.
Since it was first developed in 1998 by BESA, TR19® has been widely accepted by the building engineering services sector and British insurers as the standard to which ventilation systems should be cleaned. The guiding principle of TR/19 is that a defined, measurable level of cleanliness should be achieved to improve safety and comfort in buildings.
The courses have been developed in conjunction with TR/19 - the industry's primary standard for ventilation hygiene, developed by BESA almost 20 years ago.
Our expert members from the BESA Ventilation Hygiene Group devised the course content which are now available. Ensure you provide a service to the highest of standards and give your customers peace of mind by enrolling on one of the courses now.
There are four BESA accredited courses within ventilation:
