Vent Hygiene Register
The VHR allows approved members to demonstrate that their vent hygiene works are carried out in compliance with TR19 Grease specification.
This toolkit brings together everything individuals and businesses need to build skills, demonstrate competence, and stay compliant in the ventilation Sector – from training and SKILLcards to certification and industry support.
This toolkit is for anyone working in these areas:
The VHR allows approved members to demonstrate that their vent hygiene works are carried out in compliance with TR19 Grease specification.
BESA members must undertake a Competence Assessment Standard (CAS) Audit demonstrating they have suitable governance, financial stability, insurance, quality controls, training arrangements and safe working systems in place. The CAS also requires a technical audit to be carried out with dedicated audit schedules for the above Work Types.
Companies who carry out works to TR19 Grease must also be a member of the VHR Scheme in order to be eligible for BESA membership.
The BESCA CPS allows qualified businesses to self-certify compliance with building regulations in England and Wales. This removes the need to notify Building Control or pay local authority inspection fees.
By recognising skilled and competent professionals, the scheme provides an alternative to building notices or approved inspectors.
